Reinforced concrete, also known as reinforced cement concrete (RCC) and ferroconcrete, is a composite material in which reinforcement with greater tensile strength or ductility is added to make up for the comparatively low tensile strength and ductility of concrete.
To create a solid, impermeable bed for RCC in the foundation where the earth is soft and flexible is the goal of plain cement concrete, also known as PCC. Most often, it is applied on top of or without masonry flat soling. Another name for it is blinding concrete or cement concrete (CC).
